Integration is our middle name! DSI got its start back in 1998 out of a simple, stubborn need in the dental world: a company that could work with all of the different practice management and imaging systems out there and actually make them work together, instead of leaving each office to fend for itself. More than twenty-five years later, that is still exactly what we do, and we have never drifted from it. We specialize in only dental offices, and we work with essentially every dental software and imaging system in common use, which means you are never in the position of explaining your own software to the people you hired to support it.

Today there are more options than ever for quality imaging and digital dentistry, and that is genuinely good for practices, but it also makes integration harder, because every one of those systems has its own quirks and its own way of talking to the others. We work directly with the systems providers to plan out the right hardware and the right configuration so that everything in your office runs together smoothly, from the charting on your front-desk workstation to the sensor in your operatory. Practice management

On the practice management side, we work with Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, PracticeWorks, Easy Dental, Curve Dental, Denticon, Planet DDS, Oryx, Genesis, TDO Software (also known as The Digital Office), OMS Vision, and QuickBooks Desktop. Whether your practice runs one of the big established platforms or a newer cloud-based system, we can install it, configure it, migrate your data into it, and keep it running.

Imaging

On the imaging side, we support Dexis, Schick and Schick CDR DICOM, Carestream, Planmeca and Planmeca Romexis, Sidexis, Cliniview, SICAT, Apteryx, VixWin, TigerView, TX Studio, Invivo, and Invisalign. Imaging is often where integration headaches show up first, because the images have to flow cleanly into your practice management software, and getting that connection right is exactly the kind of work we specialize in.

Communication and other systems

For patient communication and the other systems that keep a modern practice running, we work with Weave, Solutionreach, PracticeWeb, Dolphin, and Evasoft. And if you do not see your particular system on this list, just ask us. In more than two decades of dental IT we have encountered almost everything, and if we happen not to work with something directly, there is a very good chance we know exactly who does and can point you in the right direction.

A couple of questions come up often enough that they are worth answering here. Do we support computers supplied by other vendors, such as Dell? Yes, absolutely, we are not going to insist you buy hardware from us to get support. Do we require that your practice have antivirus and backups in place? Yes, we do. In order for us to provide you with service, we ask that you have corporate-grade antivirus and some form of external backup capable of archival data storage. That is not us being difficult, it is us making sure your practice is actually protected, because we would rather prevent a disaster than be called in to clean one up.

The reason we support such a wide range of systems, rather than pushing every client toward one or two platforms we happen to prefer, comes back to how we started. Dental practices choose their software for good reasons, based on how they practice, what their specialty demands, and what they have invested years of muscle memory into. Our job is to make your chosen systems work, not to talk you into replacing them. That neutrality is part of what practices value in us: our advice about your technology is not secretly a sales pitch for a particular vendor.
